How do you wash a hat without damaging it?
so I had this hat i really liked and i always had it playing tennis. but I sweat fast and the hat continually got dirty, but EVERYTIME we threw it in the washing machine, something came out messed up with it. first the lining came off, then some of the bill material ripped off, and now it looks like some homework your dog might spit out. Any suggestions for how to wash a hat?
try just hand washing it with a little clothes soap and let it drip dry thats what i do dont ever machine wash them

there is a form you can buy @walmart, or target,or a odd shop that locks 2 ends together & you simply toss in the wash. the nice thing is it keeps the brim straight. or you can scrub w/ a toothbrush.

You have to be careful when washing hats because they tend to become faded and never want to return to their fresh state. i recommend that you don’t put it in the washing machine because no matter what cycle its on it will aggravate the material to much. The best thing to do is to buy hat cleaner withthe hat protectant to keep it in good condition. It will protect the hat from sweat, rain, dirt, etc. Also when you clean it use a soft brissle brush so it doesn’t scratch or anything.

I’ve been through a few hats in my lifetime.
i have heard that you can wash a hat in the dishwasher on the top rack.
I usually just use FAST ORANGE HAND CLEANER and scrub with a fingernail type brush. rinse well and place the hat over a coffee can (for shape)out in the sun to dry.

This may sound wierd, but put it in the dishwasher. Put it on the top rack. It won’t get bent or damaged because it stays in one place. Just use regular dish detergent. My Dad does it all the time. His hats are always fine.

Buy the hat form from a walmart store & put it in your dishwasher! Run it the shortest cycle you have and let it air dry.
