It is not a requirement to throw one’s hat on the ice after a player has scored a hat trick.

a regular belt with an s hook on it .. and a hair net or a du rag lol .. ooooh or you can grab a nylon sock and pull it all the way over your head .. that is super creepy looking!

Yes,
2 levels of shrinking the hat.
Level 1, Spray it with a little mist water (just lightly and leave it in the car on a hot day.
Level 2, (This is a little more severe but works)
Soak the hat completely in the morning, then wear it all day until it dries. It will shrink and form to your head. This method works best for those who want the hat not so boxy as the new profile is.

I would take it to a professional dry cleaner, but I would not have them clean it unless they give you a written guarantee that the signatures won’t be affected. I doubt very much that they will give such a guarantee. Other than that, there’s not much you can do except not wear it anymore.
