Do you as an atheist feel hat a Christian is wasting their lives with religion?

Posted by admin on February 15th, 2010 and filed under felt hat | 15 Comments »

Even if they are happier even if it is a "fairy tale" to you?

Happier than what? How would they know they were "happier" without having something to compare it against?

Yes, I do feel religious people are wasting their lives. Just think how much better the world could be if we invested all that time, energy and money in good works instead, like education, medicine, fighting poverty and inequality.

How do i steam a cowboy hat without distroying its shape. p.s. its a felt hat.?

Posted by admin on February 10th, 2010 and filed under felt hat | 1 Comment »

Steaming a felt hat will hurt it’s shape. When people make felt hats they make them maliable by using steam.
I’m not sure why you want to steam it? If you want it cleaned take it to someone who specializes in that.

how do i repair a small hole or tear in my felt hat?

Posted by admin on February 8th, 2010 and filed under felt hat | 1 Comment »

SUPER GLUE GEL will work for a tear. For a hole, scrape some the material from inside the hat and use it to fill in the hole. Hold a small piece of cloth over the hole from inside. On the out side apply the glue and add the lose material to fill in. Good Luck

Get a hat brush and brush any exccess dirt off of it. Then try some steam. Be careful not to mis shape it, but the steam will loosen any other dirt and soil off and you should be able to brush it off.

How should a cowboy hat be rolled (the brim)?

Posted by admin on February 1st, 2010 and filed under felt hat | 1 Comment »

Should the roll be a deep roll or a slight roll? Is there a specific reason for the different types of rolls? Is using steam the best way to roll a wool felt hat?

I always rolled my hats differently. I have different roles for different hats. don’t think there is any specific meaning to it. Just what I like.
Steam is the best way but you have to work slow and don’t overdo it or you will damage the felt. Just a little at a time and then let it sit and then go back to it.

Western Wear question: What is the coolest western hat thesedays for younger guys?

Posted by admin on January 25th, 2010 and filed under felt hat | 1 Comment »

I’m in my early 20s, and I’m looking to buy a (western) black felt hat. I’d appreciate it if those of you with more experience in this can tell me what’s fashionable these days.

And also where to buy it. (preferably a website from where I can order it) THANKS.

a good old George Strait stetson is still the best but, only buy from a hat shop that shapes it to your face. they will reshape for free forever. the height of the hat and the brim size can make or break your look. my personal choices are to stay away from that curled up Toby Keith look. It looks sloppy. My preference is not too tall with a wide brim – shaped for your face- make sure the salesperson is experienced and try on as many as you can. oh and get used to wearing it, so you don’t whack your lady with it when you are dancing.
