how to wash a baseball cap hat?

Do hats need washing? i never washed mine…. If i need to wash it, how can i wash cap hats????

I have one of those plastic things that holds a baseball cap (that Julia is referring to). It works fine in the top rack of the dishwasher. Then for the heck of it I threw in a cap without the plastic thing, (top rack also), it came out just as good.

I would wash it in the top rack, then place it on something round, so it can dry without wrinkles, (inverted tupperware bowls work well).

How would you differenciate between a cap and a hat?

I know what they both are, but I’m finding it difficult to explain the difference between the two without saying that they are both the same thing.

A cap is usually soft and close-fitting with no brim although it might have a visor. Sometimes it is used to denote a specialized kind of headgear (baseball cap, dunce’s cap, academic headgear as a mortarboard in "cap and gown". Hats are all other kinds of headgear. For example, in formalwear ( and in pictures of Abe Lincoln ), there is a "top hat" ( not a top cap ), A beret is a cap rather than a hat.

I never understood this ..
now me, I’d rather play with no hat ..
why do players have to wear them .. and it cant be to block the sun all the time .

Obviously no one has a problem with wearing a baseball cap when playing .. i mean they’ll do it, sure, no problem.. you get use to it .. now see,, i play baseball.. and sometimes I would like to just go out there with out a cap … it really makes no sense, whats the big deal? .. with cap or with out? ..

My friend who has long hair said he does not like wearing
Hats because it makes your hair fall out. Is this true or is it a myth?
Because I wear one 5 days a week for around 7 hours each day.
also i just started wearing one…so i wouldn’t know first hand. And i just remembered baseball players wear hats all the time do they lose their hair starting from their forehead like many guys do?

they don’t really say how it stays on his head, even with strong winds, links hat stays on top of his head, so you may want to use bobby pins to keep the cap or hat on.

I have hats and they get worn out and eventually I wash them in the washer which tears them up and I only wear those for cutting the grass. I feel like there has to be a cleaner I can hand wash in or something.

In the dishwasher —no kidding! And wash several at the same time to save water and energy. Put any dirty cotton or washable wool cap on the top rack, secure it by using several plastic clothespins, add the normal amount of dishwasher detergent, and run through a regular wash and rinse cycle. Remove the cap before the drying cycle and place over a large coffee can so it keeps its shape while air-drying.
