I’m going to Italy for the 1st time in July & I know it will be hot. I want to wear a hat sometimes to keep the sun out of my face because I want to try to keep my complexion the best I can. But I want to wear something that I won’t look like a dumb tourist in. For example, I have a floppy straw hat, but would that seem like I should only wear it at the beach. I also have a denim bucket hat, but it doesn’t seem too stylish for Italy. Are those okay to wear or does anyone have any ideas for something casual but still fashionable and cute for Italy?

i just want to get a simple bucket hat that i can get from an easy to access store….like….does target carry it? or maybe a dollar store?

i went on a date last weekend and was real hot so had to wear a hat, so i took my bucket (fishermans) hat with me a nice black colored one, i honestly dont think they’re that bad but my gf insisted that we need to go shopping bigtime!. She says i may look like eye candy but my fashion sense is terrible! She even goes that if i ever wear a bucket hat again she will make me wear her pink bball cap next time even if it makes me look gay! (yeah right like i will wear a pink cap!)

I will admit my fashion sense is poor but….
i mean a bucket hat that bad cmon?!?!

No. You should be comfortable and not punished with a humiliating pink hat. Here’s your last chance to keep your stones. Discuss with her what is important to you and what is not. Let her tell you those things about herself- and listen to her. This is called, getting to know each other. If compromise is acceptable, you can kep your stones and the relationship. If not beaking up is not a question of "if", but "when".

Well, don’t go to that yet: Get a Pink bucket hat and wear it next time you see each other, for a laugh. If you can laugh it off, you get to keep your stones.

That is pure BS, If you are sure of who and what you are don’t be afraid of the pink hat. Even better, buy a pink shirt and pink slacks, don’t go for pink shoes, those are really gay, and wear that when she want you to go with her somewhere nice. Remember to smile a lot or have a smirk on your face all the time and never wear the stupid pink hat, just to demonstrate that only real men can wear pink and don’t give a s**t.

I had the same problem with my wife, but in my case it was a belt. I buy a shirt, slacks and a cowboy hat, all in pink!! and wear it for her family reunion, I show up about an hour after her with her dad and brother dress in the same way and she was furious. We had the most funny family reunion of all time, can you imagine 1 active Marine and 2 combat Veterans (also Marines) showing up dress in pink!!

gonna go on a first date on sat with a girl i met recently, it will be hot and humid so must wear a hat but i cant choose between a baseball hat or a bucket hat?

I wore one last week when I went out with my girlfriend, and she ended up giving me hell for wearing it! I mean it wasnt one of those daggy ones you see OAPs while wearing on a golf course…it was stylish back one! She even took the hat away and I fought like hell to get it back only if I promised not wear it again….sheesh…..are they that much a no no?

i love bucket hats my partner wears one and so does our 2 sons nothing wrong with them at all i think they are cool

wow. lol. i would let you wear any hat you wanted.
well.. i don’t LET men do anything…they should do what they want.

I’m afraid it’s true. I have poor fashion sense too. I appointed some friends to keep my style up to date once in a while. Whenever I wear something they dont like, they just say it and would argue that I don’t do it again (even if I personally like it). Imagine a girlfriend. hahaha. Sucks on your case.
Oh btw: you WILL be wearing that pink cap. Girls are powerful like that…well, hopefully you’ll resist. And no, a bucket hat ain’t that bad. I think it’s kinda cool.

I have a bucket/fisherman hat and it’s like 5 sizes too big for me. Do you think I should try to shrink it? How would I go about doing it? I was think about putting it in the washer, but it might shrink too much. What should I do? Please help!

Don’t worry a bit. NOTHING shrinks 5 sizes. (except wool)
