Can I wash a hat/cap???
Ok, I am in this Culinary Arts program and I am required to wear a chef uniform and a black cap. My hat is starting to get dirty, and I want to know how to wash it in a standard washing machine. Thanks.
My husband wears baseball caps all the time. He washes his with an old toothbrush and laundry detergent. He rinses it under cold water and shakes it to get rid of the excess water. Then he hangs it on something to dry so he can retain the prior shape of the cap.

Depending on what is made of shouldn’t be a problem. Just hang it up to dry. It’ll likely shrink in a dryer.
You can also put it in a dishwasher on the top rack this will help it hold it’s shape

I have a plastic cap thing that you put your cap in and wash it in the dish washer, it comes out nice and clean and doesn’t lose it’s shape. I bought it in Walmart.

I would suggest washing it in cold water with laundry detergent specifically for dark colours. Hang to dry.

yes you can wash it in the washing machine at 40 degrees or less, but don’t let it spin dry,air dry it instead
